Gonzalo Grijalba, “L’Enfant terrible” of Rioja, having first studied biology at the University of Leon and then oenology at the University of Rioja, proceeded to make biodynamic wine on his parent’s land in the hills surrounding Fuenmayor: a delicate lemon-yellow in colour, scents of cut grass, peaches and lemongrass. On the palate, dry with pronounced acidity and attractive fruitiness leading to a short and refreshing finish. You need to read the label to learn why it is called “big pig” in Spanish.
